The Composting Association, the UK leading's membership organisation for the composting and biodegradable resource management industries, has announced the programme of speakers for its forthcoming annual conference and it is the most impressive ever.? Confirmed speakers include Joan Ruddock MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at Defra, Richard Swannell, Head of Organics at WRAP and Peter Jones OBE, Director of External Affairs for Biffa.

The conference, entitled ?Biowastes and the Carbon Economy' will take place 5 - 6 December 2007 at the International Centre, Telford.? Composting and biodegradable resource management already play a vital role in carbon management, returning nutrients and organic matter to the soil which might otherwise have been lost if sent for disposal.? The Association's members have the experience and resources to play a leading role in the development of a renewable energy economy, this conference will give them the guidance they need to meet this challenge.

Dr Jane Gilbert, Chief Executive of the Composting Association, said "We are extremely pleased to have attracted such an impressive and influential line-up of speakers to our annual conference.? It just shows that the Association and its annual conference are at the heart of the composting and biodegradable resource management industries.?? This event will help composters to meet their challenges and to take their place at the forefront of the carbon economy. "
